Al Roker gushes over baby granddaughter: 'I could look into this face all day'

Al Roker is mesmerized by his baby granddaughter.

"I could look into this face all day," the TODAY co-host captioned an Instagram photo of his grandchild, Sky Clara Laga. "But then, little Sky Clara wouldn’t get to eat, so I eventually had to give her back to Mommy and Daddy."

Al shares Courtney with his ex-wife, Alice Bell. He's also dad to daughter Leila and son Nick with his wife, Deborah Roberts.

Sky Clara is Al's first grandchild, born on July 3 to his daughter Courtney Roker Laga and husband Wes. Her birth was announced by Al’s adoring TODAY co-hosts.

Courtney announced her pregnancy on Instagram with a video captioned, "A new adventure is about to begin" with shots of the soon-to-be parents and the baby's ultrasound.

"Here we go!!! So very very happy!!!!! You guys," Al commented under the post.

Courtney shared her delight with TODAY.com, expressing through a text message, “We are extremely excited to welcome a new member into our family and start this next chapter in our lives.

“We feel truly blessed and excited for our little miracle," she added.

A few days after her birth, Al shared an Instagram photo of his granddaughter, writing, "And then this little girl came into my life. Welcome to the world, Sky Clara Laga. In love all over again. Thank you, Courtney and Wes for such a perfect blessing. (Your) baby is beautiful. Already planning the ways to spoil her and then hand her back."

Al also shared scenes from his July 11 visit with Sky Clara.

"Held her for about 2 hours and couldn't stop marveling at that #olddads punim," he captioned an Instagram slideshow of himself holding the baby.

Al also honored the little girl with his first post on the new Threads app.

"My first Thread is my first grandchild, Sky Clara Laga," he wrote, sharing photos. "My daughter, Courtney and her hubby, Wes have given us such a wonderful gift of the perfect bundle of love."
